Starting Point Supports Marcy’s Law

The Starting Point staff was recently visited by field organizer Marina Altschiller from Marsy’s Law NH to discuss the statewide initiative for a constitutional amendment to provide equal rights for crime victims. New Hampshire is one of only 15 states that does not extend enumerated rights to victims of crime. The Marsy’s Law initiative hopes to elevate key rights of crime victims into the state’s Constitution to ensure victims have rights equal in stature to the accused and convicted. Starting Point advocates are familiar with the difficulties victims of domestic and sexual violence and stalking face in the justice system and hope the amendment will secure the rights of victims going forward. For more information about Marsy’s Law go to nh.marsyslaw.us For more information about Starting Point: Services for Victims of Domestic and Sexual Violence go to startingpointnh.org
