Starting Point will host an Elder Abuse Awareness Forum on October 21 from 5 to 7 PM at the Gibson Center in North Conway, bringing attention to a growing concern affecting older adults, caregivers, program partners, and families throughout the region. The event is designed to help the community better understand the realities of elder abuse, how to recognize warning signs, and what resources are available to support safety and establish prevention methods.
The forum will feature a panel of experts representing multiple disciplines and perspectives. Together, they will address the concerns facing elders and caregivers, discuss indicators of abuse or neglect, explain reporting options, and highlight prevention strategies, and community support and resources.
Attendees will also have the opportunity to participate in a question‑and‑answer session with the panel.
Starting Point encourages all community members to attend — including elders, caregivers, service providers, program partners, and anyone interested in learning more about protecting older adults from harm. As the elder population continues to grow and the needs of older adults become more complex, awareness and education are essential tools for strengthening community safety.
The Elder Abuse Awareness Forum is free. RSVPs are appreciated at community@startingpointnh.org
