Starting Point Parent Forum to Look at Social Media and Teens

CONWAY — Starting Point is offering a series of parent forums on the fourth Tuesday of the month, starting Tuesday, April 26, from 7-8 p.m. at the Starting Point Advocacy Center in Conway.

The first in the series forum will be on the implications of social media for teens with a focus on sexting and how to keep your child safe from perpetrators as well as discussing the consequences of sexting.

Starting Point prevention specialists and others in the field will discuss ways to provide guidelines and create open communications with your teen about being safe on social media, recognizing that what appears on the internet stays forever on the internet.

Throughout the series, prevention specialists will cover the basics of teen brain development and how to support problem-solving, risk management, and decision-making specific to the developing teen brain.
