Services are Free and Confidential

At Starting Point, we understand the courage it takes to seek help. We’re here for you, offering free and confidential services to victims and survivors of domestic and sexual violence, stalking, and human trafficking. Our mission is to break the cycle of violence in our community, and we’re committed to supporting you with dignity and compassion.

Our Commitment to You

Your safety, privacy, and well-being are our highest priorities. Our services are available to all, regardless of gender identity/expression, age, health status, physical, mental, or emotional ability, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, race, national origin, immigration status, or religious or political affiliation.

Starting Point will not disclose any personally identifying information or individual information collected in connection with services requested, utilized, or denied through its programs or reveal any individual program participant information without the informed, written, and time-limited consent of the individual about whom the information is sought.

Confidentiality and Privacy

We understand the importance of confidentiality and privacy. All staff, volunteers, and board members are committed to protecting the confidentiality and privacy of those who seek our services. This commitment extends to all current and former program participants, including those who are denied services.

Exceptions to Confidentiality

While we strive to maintain utmost confidentiality, there are certain circumstances under New Hampshire Law RSA 173-C where confidentiality does not apply. These include when abuse or neglect of a child, an elderly or a vulnerable adult is disclosed, witnessed, or suspected. In such instances, a report must be made to the appropriate agency. However, it’s our policy to inform you if a report needs to be made, and we will support you throughout the process.
