October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month

October is usually a month filled with on the ground activities that help bring us together as we stand against violence in our community. We might not be able to gather in person this year but that won’t keep us from standing up for victims now and always.
Look for these virtual events and more going-on during DVAM:
We will be blasting our social media with opportunities for you to show your support and take the pledge to “not tolerate violence in our community”. Start us off by posting pictures on your own social media wearing purple and holding a pledge sign. Send us links to post them on our site too! Look for more calls to action throughout the month on our Facebook page, at startingpointnh/.
Tune into WMWV 93.5 for our PSAs and the Conway Daily SUN for articles about Starting Point’s work.
Our “Love Shouldn’t Be Scary” monsters will be touring the county reminding our youth, and all of us, what healthy relationships are made of.
On October 22 we will be live streaming a concert to remind us of the joys that await a life without violence – with national touring artist, singer-songwriter/stand up comedian/storyteller extraordinaire Don White. http://www.donwhite.net/
On Wednesday October 28 we will be hosting an online forum on Stalking with a panel of experts, sponsored by Memorial Hospital.
If you would like to get your purple on in a sparkly way, contact us and make arrangements with our volunteer stylist to have purple tinsel extensions put in your hair!!
Our volunteer training program is always accepting applications, this might be the time for you to explore the many volunteer opportunities available!
Letting victims know that you stand for them makes their world bigger and the abusers world smaller. Join us and get your purple on this month, and always!
